The following items in our library are available to you and your family free of charge.

  2. Family Matters: An Intervention

    Parents desperate to save their son's life turn to Dr. Phil, who prepares them for an intervention with their drug-addicted 21-year-old. Dr. Phil explains how to help someone who doesn't want to be helped.

  3. "The High Is A Lie" CD from Dr. Mary Holley (40 minutes)

  4. Meth is the most addictive drug known to man. The CD covers basic anatomy and biochemistry of the brain as they relate to addiction. The different stages of addiction and the consequences one can expect.

  5. "Power Over Addiction" video by Dr. Mary Holley (40 minutes)

    This video is the result of two years of research and is directed to the addict population, as well as parents that are facing drug problems in their families. A portion of the video also contains a personal Christian prospective on defeating addiction in the family by the author.

  6. "Relapse" video by Dr. David Ohlms (30 minutes)

    Dr. Ohlms explains how relapse begins when an addict loses conscious contact with the memory of the pain of their addiction. He then details the various signs of relapse.

  7. "Set-Up For Relapse" video by Michael Johnson (30 minutes)

    Michael Johnson addresses how addicts unknowingly set themselves up for relapse. He addresses the dynamics surrounding relapse, and explains how anger, hidden motives, making deals, etc. are all set-ups for relapse. He explores the roles of family and peer relationships.

  8. "Relationships In Recovery" Video by Meg Haycraft, MSW (29 minutes)

    This video explains the difficulties we experience as we attempt to understand the changes we and our loved are experiencing during and after recovery. She explores how family members can help their loved one and avoid enabling tendencies which may contribute to relapse.

  9. "Spirituality" video by Rev. Steve Little (60 minutes)

    This video does a great job in explaining the 12 Step tradition and how a person's spirituality plays such an important role in his/her long term recovery. This is not about "religion" but an explanation of how vital this subject is to accomplish recovery.

    Book: "Spirituality of Imperfection"

    by Ernest Kurtz and Katherine Ketcham

    This book speaks to anyone who yearns to find meaning--and even joy--within suffering. Many traditions and faiths are discussed.

  10. "Detox - Your First Days" In Recovery video, by Dr. David Ohlms (20 minutes)

    This video is very important in understanding what is happening to our loved one in both the physical and psychological sense during those first stages of withdrawal from alcohol and/or other drugs. The tape also explains what we can do to help.

  11. "The Disease of Alcoholism: Adolescent" Video (14 minutes)

    This tape contains a few new concepts you may not be familiar with.

  12. "Disease of Alcoholism" cassette by Dr. Ohlms

    Details on why alcoholism is a primary disease. He outlines its signs, symptoms and deadly progression.

  13. "Good-bye Cocaine" video by Brother Earl Video (31 minutes)

    The speaker educates us on the incredible compulsion of cocaine addiction and the triggers that create relapse (audio cassette version available).

  14. "Resistance and Recovery" Video by Delbert Boone (31 minutes)

    This video outlines how addictions affects the addict's life socially, psychologically, sp ritually and physically while creating a barrier for resistance to treatment. He explains why the longer an addict uses, the more resistant he becomes to recovery.

  15. "Marijuana" by Dr. Ohlms (audio cassette)

    Dr. Ohlms will convince those who have been diagnosed with addiction disease that a successful program of recovery is not possible if marijuana use is continued.

  20. House Bill 1425 (2005)

    This bill has resended a previous law that gave teenagers (ages 16 to 17) the legal right to reject to admission to an inpatient treatment program. In addition, the bill discuses other legal rights of parents, child and the state.
